The grounds were beautiful as was the pool, but the real magic was the endless view of the castle, the towers, the walls, and the new city way below us. We were left 15/20 minutes to be picked up by hotel bus...it wasn't raining...delay for bus on checking out....staff were very pleasant and helpful I visited this hotel approx 17 yrs ago and was awed by it's splendour then.The driver was super patient moving through the crowds of tourists and we felt like royalty in the only vehicle in the city.
From the moment we arrived by cab at the guest entrance to the medieval city the magic began.
Cabs and cars are not allowed in the old city so the hotel sent their car to pick us up.
We were in awe as it drove across the drawbridge (full of pedestrians) and went between the city walls until it turned into the castle and city to get to our hotel.
